スタンフォード大学リーダーシップセミナーの様子を生徒の日記とともにお伝えします。
DAY 1 (July 30)
The nine days training has started today. I decided to do two things during this program before I came to Stanford. Firstly, I will try to speak actively to local people because I usually have few opportunities to go out to talk. Moreover, I want to communicate in English, but I don’t like speaking English. Secondly, I want to ask a professor questions because it’s a rare opportunity. Today, we visited Google and Intel. On the Google Campus, I realized two things; I was surprised to know that the people working for Google had a lot of freedom. I thought it was a formal company at first. However, it turned out to be a way to come up with good ideas for the employees.
I want to work in such a relaxed atmosphere in the future. At Intel, I didn’t understand what to say in English, but I was able to know how the latest technology was born.
I’ll try hard so that I can talk to the local people tomorrow. (T.S H1)

When I arrived in San Francisco, I was excited about what I will experience. At the same time, I felt a little bit nervous. However, I realized that I cannot feel nervous and hesitate. This program is only 7 days, and everything will happen in a flash. In fact, since we arrived at about 10 o’clock, today passed so fast. We visited the campuses of “Google” and “Intel”. I was surprised that I did not know the originator of both companies even though they are so famous and I often use their products. Although the lectures hasn’t started yet, everything was my first experience. So, I decided that I should treasure this program. For that reason, I set aims for each day. I decided that I will try to talk to everyone that are in my team tomorrow. For the next 7 days, I think that it will be important to do teamwork. So, I want to be friendly and talk to my teammates. I will do my best! (B.K H1)

The last time I went abroad was when I was four years old. When I got off the plane, I couldn’t answer the questions at customs. It was my first time to talk with customs and foreigners by myself. Also, we visited two companies in Silicon Valley. One was Google and the other was Intel, and we always use their technology. I learned a lot about them, such as how big they are and their products are made by many people. After that, I talked with various people, such as waiters and supermarket clerks in the afternoon. It was a great day. (H.O H1)
