Today, we enjoyed class integration. At lunch time, we had lunch with some local students and we taught them hiragana. We talked a lot with them and had a good time.
My host father said “arigato” to me, and I was so surprised to hear that because I haven’t taught any Japanese to them and they said they don’t know any Japanese at all. I think he looked it up for me on the Internet, and this made me happy. Since then, he and I have used “arigato” when we want to say “thank you”.
