スタンフォード大学リーダーシップセミナーの様子を生徒の日記とともにお伝えします。

Day 7(August 5th)
Today was the last day of this program. In the morning, we went to UC Berkeley and walked around the campus with a mentor. The campus was so large, therefore I got tired, but I really enjoyed walking around there. I especially liked the creative and interesting works made by Berkeley students in the museum. Also our mentor was powerful and she showed us a lot of places. Then two members from the junior high school third grade made a presentation and it was so fantastic. In the afternoon we came back to Stanford University, and I made a presentation for the Japanese researchers in Stanford. Although I practiced very hard until yesterday, I felt so nervous. As a result I managed to do my presentation somehow. Moreover I received a lot of advice about my research from them. I thought that it was worth giving a presentation. Four students after me made presentations, and they also received good advice. Then the researchers showed us their laboratory. I was so excited, because I have never seen such a big laboratory. And we went to a store that most people didn’t know about. I bought a lot of goods, therefore I was satisfied with shopping. At night, we had a dinner party at an Indian restaurant near the hotel with Colin and Glenn. And we celebrated birthdays for two students and Mr.Kimura. A lot of things happened, and it was a very fun party. After dinner, we reflected on the whole program and each of them shared their thoughts. We will come back to Japan tomorrow. (S.K H1)

Today, we had ESL classes all day. We learned about Australia, for example, about Australian slang and culture. We also played some mini games, practiced for our presentations and played some sports. We learned how to throw and kick a rugby ball and we also played basketball. We had lots of fun and enjoyed all the activities.
In my host family, they have a big dog, two cats and lots of foreign students: four Chinese and one Vietnamese. It is a big family. We went to listen our host family sing at a concert and it was pretty nice.
I’m having a lots of fun in Australia. We will have integration classes tomorrow, and I’m looking forward to it.

I’ve gotten used to life in Australia.
Today we met our buddies and took classes in Australia. Her name was Mary. She was so cute and easy to talk to. I took classes in Math, English and Health. It was difficult for me to understand the classes, but I did my best. Also, Australian students are very cheerful. They are very active and outgoing.
Today’s lunch was fried noodles that had a strong taste. It wasn’t my taste but I could eat it.
I will be able to learn a lot of things every day. I’ll do my best !!
