This is an intermediate political science course specializing in the field of international relations. We will explore topics essential to understanding the modern international order and its politics. You will be expected to consume news reports from outside of class to help generate a healthy class discussion. International relations is a multidisciplinary field that requires knowledge in history, geography, philosophy, and anthropology, so student should be regularly reading and drawing from many different sources.

o Become aware of current events and important issues around the world.
o Improve your research skills and academic writing. Write thoughtful and compelling research papers on international topics. Use writing as a form of thinking and arguing.

Student contribution is necessary for the class to function. To achieve this, you must complete any reading assignments or work that is assigned. Volunteer your ideas and don't be afraid to disagree. Come to class ready to learn. I look forward to learning all about political science this year!
