AP World History: Modern is an introductory college-level modern world history course. Students will cultivate their understanding of world history from c. 1200 CE to the present by analyzing historical sources and learning to make connections and craft historical arguments as they explore concepts like humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions, and organization, and technology and innovation.

This class picks up where H1 world history left off, covering all the remaining content on the AP exam (35-48% of the exam content), which constitutes world history post-1800. We cover fewer chapters in this class than you covered in H1, but this does not mean the class is at a slower pace. We will spend the extra time at our disposal to work on your writing skills for the exam and your test-taking skills in general and regularly review exam content from H1.

- Weekly lectures
- Group activities, discussions, debates, and presentations will take place periodically in a collaborative learning environment throughout the entirety of each term.
- Individual homework assignments which introduce or enhance writing techniques and methods and help students better understand the subject material.
- Google Classroom will be used for assignments and necessary study materials.

Together we will practice building habits required for success on the AP exam and intellectual growth. If a student is willing to put in the work to the best of their ability, be on time with their work, cooperate in groups as a team player, and actively participate in all classroom activities with a positive attitude, positive results will likely follow.
