到達目標
The students in this course will be taught to use English to communicate in the modern world. They will be able to speak English in a natural, confident way to express their ideas and exchange opinions and information. They will also be able to start to use English to study academic subjects. In particular, instructions for classes taken in English will be emphasized. Focus in the second year will be on English for academic purposes and study in an international environment. This is a four skills course, but the majority of class time will be spent on improving students' speaking skills.
授業の進め方・学習方法
Whilst students will be using Solutions Pre-intermediate (3rd Editions) as the core text for this course, they will be also be using a variety of supplementary materials, games, language activities and pronunciation aids. To improve listening students will be using a variety of independently developed material. Students will also be encouraged to complete self-study materials which include grammar, vocabulary building and writing exercises. Students will also give presentations throughout the course. There will be a new focus on extensive reading this year, so students will be asked to read as many English books as possible.

We are going to review: Likes and dislike, contrast present simple and present continuous, before learning the language for describing people and articles.We will then look at the vocabulary of feelings, the past simple, listening for gist and past simple negative and interrogative forms. |

In the second half of this term we are going to look at adjective endings, improve our reading and comprehension skills as well as learning how to narrate events and describe events. |

In the first half of this term, we'll be looking at landscapes. the past continuous, antonyms and describing photos. |

The second part of this term will start with a look at the language needed to talk about films and TV shows before moving on to describing quantity and how we use words to advertise. Time permitting, we will also talk about prohibition and necessity as well as prefixes. |
